TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION – “COOPERATION” EXHIBITION
1. General Information
- The exhibition “Cooperation” invites artists to reflect on collaboration in a broad sense.
- Submitted works should address communication, trust, relationship-building, or collective action.
- Various artistic strategies and media are permitted if they align with the exhibition theme.
2. Submissions
- Each artist may submit a maximum of four works.
- The maximum size of a single framed artwork is 40 cm × 50 cm.
- Stage I – Application (Portfolio)
- Applications must be submitted by email and include three sample images representative of the artist’s practice.
- Submissions must be sent to: galerielokal@gmail.com
- Portfolio submission deadline: 22 March 2026
- Submission to the exhibition is free of charge.
- Stage II – Delivery of artworks:
- Artists whose works have been accepted are required to deliver the selected artworks to the gallery.
- Artwork delivery deadline: no later than Friday, 27 April 2026, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Galerie Lokal, Gerbergässlein 32, 4051 Basel. Otherwise, during opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
3. Selection and Fees
- Galerie Lokal is solely responsible for the selection of artists and artworks.
- A participation fee of 250 Swiss francs is charged exclusively to artists whose works have been accepted.
- Payment of the fee is a condition of participation.
- The fee includes costs for graphic design, printing, and an aperitif.
- The gallery retains a 20% commission on the sale of each artwork.
4. Exhibition Organization
- Exhibition dates: Saturday 02 May 2026 – Sunday 24 May 2026
- Installation and presentation of artworks are the responsibility of the gallery.
5. Final Provisions
- The gallery reserves the right to reject submissions without providing justification.
- Rejected submissions do not entitle applicants to participation or compensation.
- The gallery bears sole responsibility for the selection of artists and artworks.
- No guarantees are given regarding commercial success or visitor numbers.
6. Insurance and Liability
- The gallery provides insurance coverage for the artworks for the duration of the exhibition, including installation and deinstallation periods.
- The gallery assumes no liability for damage occurring before delivery or after collection of the artworks.
- Detailed insurance terms may be provided upon request.
