TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION – “COOPERATION” EXHIBITION


1. General Information

  1. The exhibition “Cooperation” invites artists to reflect on collaboration in a broad sense.
  2. Submitted works should address communication, trust, relationship-building, or collective action.
  3. Various artistic strategies and media are permitted if they align with the exhibition theme.


2. Submissions

  1. Each artist may submit a maximum of four works.
  2. The maximum size of a single framed artwork is 40 cm × 50 cm.
  3. Stage I – Application (Portfolio)
    • Applications must be submitted by email and include three sample images representative of the artist’s practice.
    • Submissions must be sent to: galerielokal@gmail.com
    • Portfolio submission deadline: 22 March 2026
    • Submission to the exhibition is free of charge.
  4. Stage II – Delivery of artworks:
    • Artists whose works have been accepted are required to deliver the selected artworks to the gallery.
    • Artwork delivery deadline: no later than Friday, 27 April 2026, between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Galerie Lokal, Gerbergässlein 32, 4051 Basel. Otherwise, during opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


3. Selection and Fees

  1. Galerie Lokal is solely responsible for the selection of artists and artworks.
  2. A participation fee of 250 Swiss francs is charged exclusively to artists whose works have been accepted.
  3. Payment of the fee is a condition of participation.
  4. The fee includes costs for graphic design, printing, and an aperitif.
  5. The gallery retains a 20% commission on the sale of each artwork.


4. Exhibition Organization

  1. Exhibition dates: Saturday 02 May 2026 – Sunday 24 May 2026
  2. Installation and presentation of artworks are the responsibility of the gallery.


5. Final Provisions

  1. The gallery reserves the right to reject submissions without providing justification.
  2. Rejected submissions do not entitle applicants to participation or compensation.
  3. The gallery bears sole responsibility for the selection of artists and artworks.
  4. No guarantees are given regarding commercial success or visitor numbers.


6. Insurance and Liability

  1. The gallery provides insurance coverage for the artworks for the duration of the exhibition, including installation and deinstallation periods.
  2. The gallery assumes no liability for damage occurring before delivery or after collection of the artworks.
  3. Detailed insurance terms may be provided upon request.
